Anne is passionate about building an equitable city that serves all residents. Following an undergraduate in international development and economics, she went on to complete a masters in urban design. After ten years of working and traveling abroad, Anne was thrilled to return to her hometown of Edmonton in 2012. She spent seven years working in the planning department at the City of Edmonton and then joined the Right at Home Housing Society where she focused on providing affordable housing solutions to meet the diverse needs of our community.
Anne currently lives in Wîhkwêntôwin with her partner and daughter, and has been representing Ward O-day’min on Edmonton City Council since 2021.
Over the past four years, Anne has championed work to keep Edmonton affordable, sustainable, and connected.
HOMES IN THE HEART.
Our city is facing a housing crisis. Anne led initiatives to ensure more housing options in O-day’min, including:
Exempting affordable housing from property taxes
Supporting historic investment in affordable housing
Reducing sprawl with more homes in existing neighbourhoods through the new zoning bylaw
SAFER COMMUNITIES.
We saw the dramatic impacts of the pandemic on community safety. Anne worked to tackle this by:
Investing in crisis diversion
Growing transit peace officer resources
Introducing a new tax penalty for derelict property owners
BETTER SERVICES.
Years of under-investment had eroded the services that Edmontonians rely on. Anne focused on fixes, like:
Significant expansion of transit hours
Enhanced cleaning in the core through Centre City Optimization
More funding for snow clearing and grass cutting
